Info from Hope Springs:
What You Want to Know Before You Come to Hope Springs..................
Hope Springs is “Going Green”. One of our first actions is to reduce the amount of plastic that goes into landfill from water bottles. To help us with this, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE, fill it from faucets in the Studio and Farmhouse.
We have a “NO SHOES” policy in all buildings, so bring shoes that are easy to slip on and off as you enter and leave. You’re welcome to bring “indoor” slippers or shoes (soft dance shoes are fine for classes)
We have a “no alcohol on the premises” policy. Smoking in designated outside areas only. No illegal drugs allowed on premises.
Candles are not permitted in any of the buildings. This is a requirement of our insurance.
We have Wi-Fi. It is satellite, so not as robust as most network systems that are found in the city. It does slow down the more people that are on it.
*NOTE: We easily connected to WIFI and were able to keep in contact with loved ones via text or FB calling, Whats App also works great for calls.
Cell phones do not work here – with some rare exceptions. We have a landline telephone that you can use, and long distance within the continental U.S. is free for our clients. If your carrier has calling over the internet and you enable that service before you get here, texting works pretty well and phone calls work so-so. You may also try smart phone apps that work over wi-fi like What’s App, Facebook calling, for example.
We have a walking trail through the fields and woods, so bring hats, socks, long pants, long sleeve shirts, bug protection and shoes that support you on rough terrain and are waterproof (if you plan on taking nature walks).
We are in the country and it is beautiful here! Of course, part of nature are her defenders. In the fields and woods you may encounter ticks, chiggers, poison ivy, and thorns. Bringing the proper clothes (see item above) will help protect you from them. Ticks are most active in the warmer months, but may be active as early as March and as late as November.
We have a hot tub, so bring a bathing suit if you do not want to use the “no clothing” option. We provide robes to wear going to and from the tub.
We provide all bedding, towels, hair dryers, shampoo and shower gel and flashlights to use while you’re here. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer a certain type or brand.
